Abstract Landscape: Non-Representational Drawings using Line, Shape, and Value
In this project students explore mark-making to create value in non-representational/abstract landscapes. Drawings are created with micron pen on bristol paper.

Hybridization of Form: Creating Complex Forms with Line and Cross Contour
For this project students combine observed objects in unique ways to make invented forms. Emphasis is placed on line-weight, values shifts, and visual cohesion.

Environment Progression: Emotive Shifts in Invented Space using Collage and Altered Color Palettes
Students begin this project be creating a collage from found imagery in magazines, newspapers, etc. Using transfer techniques students transfer all of portions of their collage composition onto additional substrates and explore color, texture, line and economy to create a series of environment progressions.

First World Problems Group Project: Supporting Narrative Communication with Expressive Mark-Making and Color in Large-Scale Drawing (large scale group project)
In this group project students were asked to respond to the prompt "first world problems". Each group worked together to interpret the prompt and communicate their collective perspective in a large scale drawing that employed chalk pastel and charcoal. Each group drawing is approx. 4ft x 5ft.

Real or Imaginary Event Group Project: Supporting Narrative Communication with Expressive Mark-Making and Color in Large-Scale Drawing (large scale group project)
In this group project students were asked to create a collaborative drawing that communicated a Historical or Imaginary Event of their choice. Each group worked together to select an event and communicate it in a large scale drawing that employed both wet and dry media. Mark-making and creative use of materials was emphasized in this project and students devised constructed their own drawing tools for applying media. Each group drawing is approx. 4ft x 5ft.
